Pre-Alpha Test April 18th - Key Changes

The following only represents significant and not all changes in the build this afternoon. As a reminder, during pre-alpha both small and large changes will occur without warning to facilitate rapid development and experimentation.

Changes

  • Enemy Settlements are no longer shown on the map
  • Settlement Centers now require a certain number of Tents to upgrade to Tier 2 & 3
  • Faction friendly players can open Gates in Homesteads as long as enemies aren't nearby and Gate is in Restricted mode
  • There are less trees around Animal Dens in forests
  • When a Settlement Center or Homestead is destroyed, structures within their build area are no longer accessible and will rapidly decay within an hour
  • Redeploy action button is now available at Family Halls
  • Cooking quality foods is more difficult
  • Hearth requires Wood Planks instead of Branches to build
  • Marketplace value for Animal Feed significantly reduced
  • Wood Blank marketplace value decreased
  • Time to produce an individual Torch has been reduced
  • Food health/stamina/hunger boost per quality level has been slightly increased
  • Respawn timer increase for each recent successive death has been slightly increased
  • Settlement Core maximum radius has been slightly increased
  • Players are disallowed from Redeploying to a Homestead or Settlement Core if their inventory has items
  • Bronze Knife durability improved
  • Bronze Knife is now required to harvest Ravens and Elite Boars
  • Fishing Rod is now produced at the Advanced Workbench
  • Iron Ingots are no longer available for purchase at Merchants
  • Iron fragment piles and Iron piles require many more hits to mine now
  • Upkeep cost increased for Settlements and Homesteads with larger counts
  • Clay has been removed from the game
  • Steel has been removed from the game
  • Animals an spawn inside the Homestead area again
  • If a Settlement has reached a certain population, new players without a Pledge can no longer deploy there
  • Tutorial has been expanded with new steps
  • Deployment Points have tooltips now
  • Furnace UI now shows common recipes

Bug Fixes

  • Players can't change their text chat channel if they aren't in a Family
  • Building a Homestead fails without showing any error message
  • Canals are not repairable
  • Eating Berry Rations can decrease player HP and Stamina under certain circumstances
  • Animal Rope fails to pull animals
  • Several client crashes
  • Many structures and vehicles aren't repairable
  • Build menu tooltips sometimes don't activate when hovering over
  • Small Camp has Upkeep UI when it does not have that functionality
  • Family Founder and Managers can tranfer items at Allied Homesteads when they shouldn't be able to
  • Canal has issues building near a Settlement Center
  • Players can claim a Family Hall at a friendly Settlement they're not pledged to

  • Town Bed and Town Bunk Bed can no longer be built in the homestead.
