Cooking in Anvil Empires is straightforward. First, build the cooking Structure you want from the build menu. Then, press the E key to interact with it and open its menu. Place your ingredients in the available slots and add fuel. If the ingredients match a recipe, the station will start cooking the Food.
Cooking Stations
There are currently 3 primary cooking stations to use for different recipes.
The Firepit is the most simple cooking Structure used for the most basic recipes. It can be built anywhere without having to be built inside a settlement. Food will burn in 10 minutes
The Hearth is a cooking structure used for boiled or stewed foods with its most popular food being Boiled Cabbage. Food will burn in 12 minutes, 30 seconds.
Once cooked, food is placed in the output slot at the highest quality level (3). Leaving cooked food in the station for too long will lower its quality. Cooked food cannot be stacked in the output slot, so leaving it unattended may burn it. The station will emit black smoke when food has finished cooking and is starting to degrade. If not removed within 10-15 minutes (depending on the station), the food will be destroyed and turn into Wood Ash.
Note: Due to this system you can reset the cooking timer by dropping something into the station if it has a higher priority. i.e Putting berries into a firepit cooking meats will reset the timer, wasting any cooking time.
Additional Structures
There are also some additional cooking structures that improve your cooking area, and aid your ability to cook.
