Pre-Alpha Test Release Notes [Mar 31]

Game Balance

  • Siege damage type now deals 500% damage against vehicles (e.g. Torches now deal 500% damage against Battering Rams)
  • Crushing damage type now deals 25% damage against vehicles (before it dealt 0%)
  • Torch damage increased by 33%
  • Burning Oil ground patch damage over time increased by 66%
  • Burning Oil impact damage reduced by 50%
  • Rock Slabs now deal Crushing damage type
  • Rock Slabs, Oil Flasks, and Torches now deal a small amount of splash damage
  • Battering Ram damage decreased by 33%
  • Battering Ram health decreased by 50%
  • Cart/Hand Cart/Caravan health increased by ~400% (to account for increase in Siege damage type against vehicles)
  • Stockades now deal Piercing damage type
  • Catapult accuracy reverted back to it's previous value before this update (but range remains)
  • Cultural Win Condition now take 24hrs to complete after building all required Temples
  • Keeps now come pre-stocked with Rock Slabs as starter supplies
  • Homestead Roof structures are now free to place (like Parapets)
  • Tier 1 & Tier 2 Keep health has been increased by ~42%
  • Amount of Berry Bushes reduced in the world

Changes

  • Cargo Ships have been re-enabled and players can now walk on their decks properly
  • Torches, Oil Flasks, Burning Oil, and Rock Slab projectile movement paths have been adjusted to make them easier to throw over Parapets
  • Minor server optimizations for improved performance
  • Punching no longer progresses Avatars

Bug Fixes

  • Barrels of items can't be sold at the Marketplace
  • Piercing damage type still damages vehicles slightly (it shouldn't damage them at all anymore)
  • "Deployment Unavailable: No food available" is outdated and should mention Avatars instead
  • Caravans were incorrectly taking damage from damage types it wasn't supposed to like Slashing, Missile, etc
  • Players were sometimes still not dying when hit by a Battering Ram
  • Player Avatar progress wasn't reset when deploying in the Wild
  • Projectiles dealing splash damage sometimes don't play their VFX

We had forgotten to mention it but shortly before the last test ended the following bug was fixed. That fix will carry over into this test:

  • Players sometimes are stuck on the loading screen after dying in the Underworld (and aren't able to log back in for a significant period of time)

Game Balance

  • Cargo Ship and Small Boat health increased by 400%
  • Oil Flask direct damage reduced by 20%
  • Crushing damage type damage modifier against vehicles increased from 25% to 33%
  • Walking speed when carrying Burning Oil, Rock Slab, and other large resources reduced significantly (so its harder to use offensively in combat)
  • Burning Oil and Rock Slab throw distance reduced

Changes

  • Underworld Stone mines now yield Rock Slabs instead of Stone Off-Cuts
