Pre-Alpha Test - MS 59.1 Release Notes (Addendum)
Please note these last minute changes
Changes
- Keeps can no longer be set on fire again (same behaviour as last test)
- Fortress Foundations no longer leave behind a collapsed husk structure (does not apply to Town Foundations)
- Auxiliary Bowman and Spearman now come with Flint in their starter kit
- Cultural Victory requires Temples to be held for 2 days (instead of 3)
Known Issues
- There is still a small chance Underworld caves can spawn in a Town (but they shouldn't spawn next to Temples or in Homestead or Fortress areas)
Pre-Alpha Test - MS 59.1 Release Notes
This is mostly the same as the last test (which was MS 59), with some minor tweaks and changes.
Features/Changes
- Auxiliary Avatars can now be hired at Taverns:
- Auxiliary Swordsman (Leather Armour, Leather Helmet, Wooden Targe, Bronze Sword)
- Auxiliary Bowman (Leather Armour, Leather Helmet, Short Bow, Arrows)
- Auxiliary Spearman (Leather Armour, Leather Helmet, Spear)
- Dev Note: This feature exists for experimental purposes only and will be overhauled/replaced in the future. The purpose of the experiment is to enable more generic avatars (distinct from Homestead avatars) that exist to supplement a battle without the need for players to produce/deliver dedicated gear to Keeps/Camps.
- Structure damage / health is now visualized on Fort foundations and Keeps
- Dev Note: This is an experimental change that could only be applied to these few structures for now, but the long term plan is to make this change happen for other structures.
- Structures are no longer buildable in front of a Gate
- Town Homesteads now have a built-in resource stockpile that holds a large amount of resources
Balance Changes
Keeps can be set on fire again and damage over time has been increased significantly for themDev Note: The intent is that after breaching Fort Foundations/Walls, Oil Flasks can be used to damage the Keep over time
- Silver drop rates have been increased
- Dev Note: Even with this change though, it's still expected that Homestead sizes are limited if Silver is only procured through gathering. That is intended. To support larger Homesteads, Silver must be procured from the Marketplace. This balance isn't going to be perfect right now, but more changes will come in the future to help facilitate this intended design.
- Towns now have Power Mills
- Power Connection Gear, Power Connection Rope, and Bellows can now be built in Towns
- Caves no longer spawn in Towns or near Temples
- There is a minimum enforced distance between Fortress Keeps
- There is a minimum enforced distance between Temples
- Piercing damage (Spears) against Horses increased by 33%
- Hand Carts cost changed to 3x Wood Planks
- Caravan Avatar capacity increased from 60 to 90
- Homestead area size reduced by ~15%
- Starting Armour and Infantry Weapons have been removed from Town Keeps
- Cost to increase pledge status to Serf reduced from 150 to 15 50
- Cost to increase pledge status to Ceorl reduced from 750 to 75200
- The distance from enemies at which you can restore a Keep is now the same as the distance from which structures can be repaired
Bug Fixes
- There are several issues preventing Ladders from being deployed
- After deploying as reinforcements if you deploy again in the wilderness you will have reinforcement status still
- Some trees can't be chopped down
Pending Changes (may or may not make it into the final build for this test)
- Horses must sustain sprint velocity for ~2-3 seconds to knock over players
- EDIT: This change will make it in
