Guide:Farming
Farming guide explains how to farm in Anvil Empires. Farming involves working the ground, planting seeds, and growing plants for foods or as resources.
Fields
To set up a Tilled Field 
, you must meet the following requirements:
- A Tier 2 Homestead
. - Farming tools: an Iron Hoe
and an Iron Scythe 
, crafted at a Workbench 
. - A water source, such as a Shallow Well
or a Canal Storage 
. - Seeds to plant: Wheat Seed
, Cabbage Seed 
, Flax Seed 
, or Hemp Seed 
.
Once you have the required items, equip the Iron Hoe , open the build menu with 
, and navigate to the Industry tab to select the Tilled Field . Move the blueprint to your desired location and click to place it. Then, click and hold with the Iron Hoe to construct the field.
Planting
Before planting, check the current season to ensure the air temperature is suitable for your crops. The current season is displayed at the top of the map screen (opened with 
).
To plant, equip the chosen seeds, stand on the Tilled Field , and press 
to sow a seed. Each field supports a 4x5 grid, allowing up to 20 plants per Tilled Field .
Watering
After planting, water the seeds using a Water Bucket 
. Fill the bucket from a water source, such as a Shallow Well or a Canal Storage connected to an aqueduct. Stand on the field and press to water it. Watering is essential for growth, as plants will not progress without it. Each Tilled Field can be watered up to three times, with each watering lasting 5 minutes, providing a total of 15 minutes for a fully watered field. The weather can affect water duration, with rainstorms increasing it by an additional 51%. The rain waters the fields.
Stages
Each plant progresses through four stages, with the time between stages varying by plant type.

Fertilizer
Fertilizer 
, made from Wood Ash 
and Animal Shite 
, accelerates plant growth by one-third. For example, fertilized cabbage and wheat mature in 1 hour. Fertilizer appears as white ash when spread across the field. Apply it in the same way as water. Once applied, it remains effective for 33 Minutes, 20 Seconds, whether or not plants are growing.
Harvest
To harvest, equip an Iron Scythe , stand near the plants, and press to collect them. Harvested plants and seeds are added to your inventory. The yield varies by plant type and is influenced by a random drop chance. Refer to individual plant pages for details.
